About Me

My photo
I'm me and I'm the best me I know! Tee hee. I'm a wife to the best man any girl could ask for. I'm Mom to the two most beautiful girls, Natalie (7 years) and Alexis (4 years)! Skruffy is our dog, whom we all love very much. I got my elementary education degree from Washington State University...Go Cougs!!! I enjoy reading and writing children's stories, listening to music, dancing (even though I suck at it), and spending time with family and friends.

Mommy was here!

This weekend was fun, crazy, but a lot of fun. (Side note, I'm having a lot of help typing from Alexis at the moment and I'm trying to catch everything she does, but in case I miss something and it seems a little weird, I blame her :))

Anyway, Mom and Tom were up this weekend. They got here a little before 4 in the afternoon on Saturday and we met them at their hotel and went swimming. `1The girls had a BLAST!!! The water was so cold, even though it was an indoor supposedly heated pool. We weren't sure if Alexis would like it or not so we 1took her in slowly, and she loved it. She had the biggest grin on her face pretty much the whole time! The only time that she wasn't smiling was when anyone else tried to take her. She was glued to momma, but that's fine with me. Natalie loved 'swimming' to Peter, Mo3m and Tom. T`hey worked with her a lot on kicking. It made me think of how badly I need to get her into swimming lessons. Of course I didn't think to bring the camera so I wasn't able to get any pictures :(. Oh well, Mom will come up to visit again and maybe then I'll remember.

After swimming we all went to dinner at Lorenzo's, a Mexican restaurant.... and boy was it good!!! My new favorite Mexican restaurant ever!! Yummy. It was actually funny, because we ran into Peter's parents and Betsy and Justin there (They had to come up because Justin's grandfather had passed and they were attending his funeral on Sunday). We had no idea they were going to be there. If they weren't already half way through their food, we might have had them join us, or joined them, whatever.

But after dinner, we all went up to the house so that Mom and Tom could see where we are staying. Shocking, but Mom hasn't ever been up here before. We hung out and laughed a lot. The girls had a lot of fun playing with everyone. Alexis did shockingly well with how many people were around (12 people in all, including the girls), two of which she's only seen twice in her life. She played with Betsy a lot! Natalie had fun just showing off, she is such a ham and demands to be the center of attention whenever anyone different is around. When Mom and Tom left for their hotel, Alexis wanted to immediately go to bed, which makes sense since it was about an hour after her normal bed time. So there she went and Natalie got to play for a little while longer with Aunt Betsy. Then Aunt Betsy got her ready for bed and tucked her in. Poor Aunt Betsy, who hasn't ever had experience tucking in a child who doesn't like to go to bed, got sucked into reading book after book after book. After she had been up there for over half an hour, Peter went up and rescued her.... she would probably still be there if Natalie had anything to do with it ;).

Betsy and Justin left early Sunday morning for his grandfather's funeral. When the Peter, the girls and I had eaten breakfast, we went down to the hotel and went swimming again. Well, they went swimming, Alexis and I sat it the hot tub. I didn't feel like freezing again that early in the morning. There was another little girl there that Natalie befriended immediately. I was very impressed, she was 3 almost 4, and she could swim (sort of.... more like float badly)... which drove in the matter that I need to get Natalie into swimming lessons even more..... It was cute, she was trying to teach Natalie how to swim. After about an hour of swimming/hot tubbing we all went bowling. I like the bowling here, on Sundays it's only $1.50 a person a game. The place we went to in Vancouver was $4.50. So we have designated Sundays as our bowling days whenever the need comes up.

After bowling, Mom and Tom had to head back. We really enjoyed their visit, and Natalie says she can't wait until we can see them again.

Picture Blog

OK so another post of pictures. No promises on how long, or short, it's going to be.... If you've already seen the ones I just posted to my myspace, then you've already seen most of them.

I have this same picture of Peter and Natalie.... with the same block even.... too funny!!! I tried looking for it, but it must be on a CD somewhere.... I'll have to keep looking.

Just look at those curls! I hope they stay :D

Alexis loves sitting in that dog bed. She's usually reading and very happy. I think she was a little peeved that I interupted her playing.

I just noticed they were all of Alexis, but I think I'll end it there for today! We put in a sand box this weekend and I have a ton of cute pictures of the girls playing in there. Maybe I'll do a post with those pics tomorrow! And I promise Natalie will make an appearance in it. HEHE

Tattoo Ideas

So in an earlier post I had mentioned that I wanted to get a tattoo. Since then I've been thinking about it a lot... haha. I think I've found the basic idea of what I want... it's changed a little from my original idea. (I think, although my original idea still appeals to me too.....) So I wanted to get some opinions.

I think I basically want this idea http://www.tattoofinder.com/find_tattooOne.asp?flash=12040. With 4 butterflies; two butterflies bigger than the other two, the bigger ones to represent Peter and I obviously, and the smaller two to represent the girls. But I think I like the shape of these better.http://www.tattoofinder.com/find_tattooOne.asp?flash=2492. And I think I'd like them clustered a little closer.... a little but not much.

But my orginal idea of having one butterfly with one of our initials in each section of the wing still appeals to me. There's a lot that I like for that one too.... something like these... of course some of the coloration will be different than what's shown in these...

There are others that I like, but that could lead to a very long list. Obviously I'm no where close to getting it done, but the idea is in my head and when one of us gets a job and has a little spare money, maybe I'll take more time to narrow it down to what I really want. The good thing about the first idea is that if for some reason, down the road, Peter and I decide that we do want another child, another butterfly to represent him/her can be added. With my original idea, it would be a bit difficult.... What do you think???

:( Bummer dude!

Peter didn't pass the physical. He couldn't do the minimum amount of situps. He got to 28 and just couldn't do any more... which sucks because the minimum is 30 :(, so close! He was so bummed because that was the first thing they did, even though according to the paperwork they sent him it was supposed to be the thrid thing they do, and he didn't get to do anything else. He plans on retrying again when they post things again, and until then he's going to do situps every day until he can do 50 at a time easy!

Good Luck Wishes

So today is the day that Peter has his written and physical tests for that sherrif's deputy position. Actually he's been taking it for about half an hour now. I woke up after he had left and I didn't get to wish him good luck. (Which I'm bummed about and I told him that he was supposed to wake me up if I wasn't already up....) So I'm hoping that posting my good luck wishes on here for cyberspace to see, that they'll float through the airwaves and magically reach him :) and he'll do wonderfully!!

Good luck Peter! I love you and know you're going to do AWESOME! Kick some butt!!!

Too Funny

OK I just have to share this. So for the past couple weeks Peter has been training (for lack of a better word) for his physical exam for the sheriff's deputy position he has applied for. He's been doing push ups and sit ups and running pretty much everyday. Well this morning when he was doing his push ups, Alexis laid down on the floor, on her belly, next to him and started lifting her head up and down. And then when Peter was doing his sit ups she sat next to him and rocked forward and backward as if doing sit ups too. It was hilarious. Of course I ran up stairs to get the camera but she wouldn't do it again for us, even though I made Peter do his push ups and sit ups again.... he wasn't too pleased that I made him do that again, but hey, it'll help him in the end, right?
